Indian Formula 2 driver and Alpine F1 reserve

Kush Maini is an Indian racing driver competing at the very top of international motorsport. He currently takes part in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with ART Grand Prix, while building one of the most impressive trajectories among Indian drivers.

Alongside his Formula 2 season, he is also a reserve driver for the BWT Alpine F1 Team and the Mahindra Formula E Team—strengthening his position within the world’s motorsport elite. Kush Maini’s career is defined by consistency, progression, and top-tier performances in every category in which he has raced.

From karting to the Formula 2 podium

Kush Maini’s racing career began in karting, where he quickly established himself as one of India’s most promising young talents. Competing at both national and international level, Kush built valuable experience against young and formidable opponents from Europe and beyond.

A decisive step in his journey was then the move into the highly competitive British BRDC British Formula 3 Championship. For several seasons, he battled consistently for the top of the overall standings, and in the end finished in the top 3 of the series twice. In 2020, he won vice-champion honors—one of the most memorable achievements of his career.

After a season in FIA Formula 3, the step up to FIA Formula 2 represented a clear leap forward: he immediately established himself as the final step on the road to Formula 1. During his first three seasons in Formula 2, he secured seven podiums, won two races, and took a pole position. Today, while racing with ART Grand Prix—one of the most decorated teams in the history of single-seater junior motorsport—Kush continues to consolidate his position.
