THE GRID AGENCY SIGNS MAVERICK MCKENNA
APR 23, 2026
Maverick McKenna, an American driver currently competing in the French Formula 4 Championship, joins The Grid, a global motorsport management and marketing agency, as part of a small group of American drivers competing full-time in European single-seater racing.
Maverick McKenna represents one of the most atypical and compelling trajectories in junior motorsport. Born in the United States, the 16-year-old only began karting in 2024 — a significantly late start in a discipline where most drivers begin before the age of 10. Yet, within just two seasons, he is quickly establishing himself as one of the sport’s most promising young talents.
In 2025, McKenna competed in leading American karting championships, including SKUSA, USPKS, and the Stars Championship Series. Facing far more experienced drivers, he demonstrated strong adaptability, with P7 finishes in OKN Pro Stars at Mid-Ohio and in X30 Pro at the USPKS Wisconsin Grand Prix.
Alongside his karting development, he made an early move into single-seaters with his first appearance in the French Formula 4 Championship. Despite having no prior experience in formula racing, he quickly demonstrated strong pace, consistently running close to the top 10.
His progress was further underlined by his semi-final qualification in the Feed Racing shootout, a highly selective program designed to identify future single-seater talent.
In 2026, he committed for a full season in French F4, and immediately showed strong pace and was among the most competitive drivers during pre-season testing this winter. A mechanical issue in qualifying, however, limited the opportunity to convert that pace into results at the opening round in Nogaro.
With this signing, The Grid reinforces its commitment to supporting high-potential drivers through a structured, long-term, 360-degree approach to development.
“What makes Maverick stand out is how quickly he’s been able to close the gap to experienced drivers. Starting so late and reaching that level in such a short time says a lot about his potential. We’re proud to support him and move forward together as he continues to evolve”
“Joining The Grid is an important step for me. I’m really happy to be working with them and to keep progressing together. My goal is to keep building, stay consistent, and move step by step towards the highest level of the sport”
